An electronic version of the Guest Satisfaction Survey is mailed out randomly by MVCI’s Owner Services Department to owners and guests after each stay at the resort. Please do take a moment to fill out this survey; our Management team appreciates your feed back. Let us know what went well, names of any associates who went above and beyond, or what can we do better. We do share your feed back with our team and the associates love to hear when you had a good time in our beautiful resort and the island.

Owners can call Owner Services from their room to make their next year’s reservation. A 50% will be adjusted on the respective call on the bill.

  • We will provide 4 towels in a one-bedroom villa, 8 towels in a two-bedroom villa and 12 towels in a three-bedroom villa.
  • Owners using their lock-out portion are provided with 4 towels.
  • Clean pool towels will only be exchanged at the towel hut when you return a dirty one. Please remember that the towel hut attendant cannot give you a clean towel if you left it in your villa. In this case, you will need to return to your villa to get your towel. This is the only way to control our towel inventory and costs. Annually we experience high numbers of lost towels which negatively affects the bottom line of our maintenance fees. We thank you for your understanding.
  • Pool towels are provided at the Pool Towel Hut
  • Pool operation hours: 7:30am to 7:00pm.
  • No Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in and around the pool area; there are designated areas that are marked for smoking areas.

Please note that in order to ensure fair access for all our guests to our pool, pool lounges and palapas (first come first serve) we will remove all personal belongings:

  • Used to reserve any chair, umbrella or palapa prior to 7.30am.
  • On chairs which have been unattended for more than 2 hours.

If you find your belongings removed upon your return, please see the respective Towel Hut attendant or contact any Recreation or Loss Prevention Officer to claim your items. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Our Palapa procedures are as follows: 50% of our Palapa inventory is on a first come first served basis while the other 50% of our inventory is set aside for reservations and a daily rental fee. In order to accommodate all owners and provide everyone a fair opportunity to obtain a hut, you are welcome to reserve a hut for a maximum of 3 days at a time. Reservations are to be made daily between the hours of 10:00am and 6:00pm. Please note that Ocean Club guests may only use the Palapas at the Ocean Club.

Many owners inquire about why their special requests, made way in advance of their arrival, are not honored. We cannot always honor these requests due to the high owner occupancy rates at the Resort year-round. The villa assignment for each day depends on the check-out pattern of that same day and unfortunately, we are not able to honor all requests.

Aruba Marriott Ocean Club enjoys one of the highest Homeowner occupancy rates of all Marriott Vacation Club resorts. As is true at every property, we place our Owners at the very top of the priority list in terms of requests for villa locations and preferences. Because of the high number of Owners that we welcome each week, we are often challenged with villa location requests that we are unable to always grant. Nonetheless, we strive to ensure that every Owner and Guest have a wonderful vacation experience!

Villas are assigned in advance and are based on the category you own and are prioritized in the following order:

  1. Ocean Club Homeowners using their owner week
  2. Ocean Club Homeowners exchanging into their home resort
  3. Other MVCI Owners exchanging into Ocean Club
  4. Any other reservations which includes other non-Marriott Exchangers, Preview Guests and Rentals

Assignments are made on the assumption that owners prefer high to low floors and pool view to outside views. When there are more owners than there are “preferred” villa views or locations, the Room’s Controller looks at each owner’s previous villa assignments to ensure fairness in the rotation from year to year. Specific villa/floor requests are considered within the general principles noted above.

We are unable to guarantee villa preference requests but will do our best to honor your requests based on availability and utilizing the established Villa Request Blocking Priority outlined above.

Within Marriott, the F&B outlets do not apply a service charge to the final check. For groups of 8 or more we do apply a 15% service charge. Other establishments on the island may apply this service charge differently. Please contact the establishment for more details.

Gratuity or tipping is entirely at your discretion based on the service you’ve received.

As in many islands, taxis are not metered in Aruba. They are operated on fixed government rates. For your convenience, a rate sheet for the most used locations is available at the front desk. Prior to embarking on the journey, it is recommended that you and the driver agree on a fee for your travel. Taxis are usually at each hotel waiting to provide service at the lobby entrance. The Bellman, Doorman, Front Desk Agent or the Concierge are always happy to assist. Visitors may choose to flag taxis on the street, but make sure the cab’s license plate reads “TX”. Tipping for a taxi driver normally can range between 10 percent and 15 percent of the final fare, but that is not always expected. On Sundays and holidays some taxis may apply a surcharge.

DVD Players are available in the living area of the one-bedroom villas. You may bring your own movies to play or DVD movies are available for rental at the Matey’s Hall (located at the Aruba Surf Club). Open daily from 8:30am to 4:30pm. DVD players are also available for rental.

If you are renting a car, we have included a parking pass for your convenience as part of the arrival package. This parking pass should be displayed in the front windshield on the driver’s side of the dashboard. This is to help the resort security staff control any unauthorized parking. Please park only in lined spaces and any vehicle parked along the curb or yellow lined area will be subject to towing. Be aware of the handicapped parking spaces and any vehicles without a handicapped sticker displayed will be towed from these spaces.

Cell phones are available for rental at the Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club. For owners who wish to take advantage of this service they can visit the Market Place at Surf Club or the Bazaar Gift Shop at the Marriott Resort.  Please note that no advance reservations are taken; phones need to be reserved on site.

In the lobby next to the Front Desk there are 2 (two) computers available for guests to use at a fee. Printing your boarding pass can be done free of charge.

If you are traveling with your laptop to keep in touch with family, friends or your business, you can now access high-speed internet in your own villa at no extra charge. Please follow the instructions sheet in your villa. Now Wireless Internet access is free of charge as well! Just log on in your room. You will receive a pass code which will allow you to use Wireless Internet access in the lobby area and outside patio at the Aruba Ocean Club. At the Surf Club, access is available at the Captains Galley, lobby area and the patio outside the Market Place.

Owners can email MVCI’s Owner’s Clubhouse to submit home and email address changes. This department will update the owner’s address in all the systems.

As per the MVW Brand Standards, all Marriott Vacation Club properties have the Pack-n-Play portable baby cribs. These as well as high chairs are available upon request on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Due to local fire codes, Marriott does not provide roll-away beds or air mattresses.

At the Aruba Ocean Club and Aruba Surf Club we charge a fee for “Occupancy Tax”. This is a local Government Tax that is charged to the guests by all hotel and timeshare resorts. The fixed fee (subject to change) will be reflected on the owner’s folio upon check-out.

Parts of the reform will impact the tourism community and as such, for the lodging sector, the Government has introduced an Environment Levy which will go into effect on August 1, 2013 with a fixed fee. The revenue generated from this EL tax will be used to contribute to the advancement of the Green Technology. This added fee is regardless of the amount of nights, weeks or months a guest/member stays at the Resort and it is in addition to the existing daily Governmental taxation.

The EL tax is applied as follows:

  • Rental reservations/hotels
  • Per occupied room per night (not per person) for regular (transient) hotels $3
  • Fixed week reservations/Time Share resorts:

For weeks stay the tax is per stay (not per night):

  • Studios will be charged $10 per stay;
  • One Bedroom units will be charged $15 per stay;
  • Two Bedroom units will be charged $25 per stay.
